Dennis Wells was born August 5, 1953 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Dennis was raised in Mississippi and attended Millsaps College where he graduated in 1975 with Honors and degrees in Political Science and Business Administration. Dennis attended the University of Mississippi Law School and graduated in 1978. During that time he was Comment Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal.

Dennis Wells was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1978. After a brief stint as an Assistant County Attorney, between 1978 and 1982, Dennis was a Captain on active duty in the U.S. Army JAG Corp., where he was stationed in the Republic of Korea and Panama. Dennis then served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 2004, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel (LTC).

Between 1982 and 1983 Dennis served as an Assistant District Attorney in Mississippi, and then he moved to Orlando Florida. In 1983 Dennis was admitted to the Florida Bar and between 1983 and 1986 he was employed as an Assistant Public Defender in Orlando and Gainesville.

In 1987 Dennis Wells became an Eminent Domain Attorney with the Florida Department of Transportation in DeLand, Florida until 1989. In 1989 he was an associate with Sparks, Cooper and Leklem, P.A., in Orlando, Florida, where he served as counsel representing the Orlando, Orange County Expressway Authority in condemnation cases.

From 1991 till 2001, Dennis Wells operated a law practice as a sole practitioner, specializing in Eminent Domain or Condemnation law, representing property owners. In addition, Dennis handled numerous cases in land use / zoning, construction lien litigation, commercial contracts, and collections.

In 2001, Dennis became a partner in Webb, Wells & Williams, P.A. Since Webb, Wells & Williams, P.A., was formed it has represented clients in Eminent Domain, real estate transactions, land use / zoning, construction lien litigation, commercial disputes, collections, personal injury, wrongful death actions, civil rights actions, employment law, and discrimination suits.
